Haribo in the World

As student in communication and international communication I found that it could be interesting to studies the adaptation of some ads or slogan in the World. For this exercise I choose Haribo. Why Haribo ? Because I still remember this song that there is at the end of each Haribo's ad. IN french it is "Haribo c'est beau la vie, pour les grands et les petits!"

The interest of comparing the slogans of different countries shows that there is true reflexion about the will of being "punchy" and efficient.

I let you discover the different slogans of Haribo in the World which have different meaning but translate almost the same spirit "the happiness of living in a World where Haribo exists".

Microsoft

Well I'm not sure that it's very usefull to present you worldwide company Microsoft, but it's what I did today. In fact I think that it is very important to understand how works an American company before to go there and pretend to a job there.

In this presentation one the thing which surprised me the most was the difference between the work conditions France and America inside the company. In fact whereas Microsoft propose very good working conditions in Europe, the working environment in America is not as good as it is in the old continent.
About the working conditions in America it is very interesting to see the classification of the100 Best Companies to Work For^® provides by the Great Place to Work^® Institute.

Don't be in late

Last post I spoke about how to choose a company ... Today I will speak about the job interview. But as I said before I'm not the wizard of the town and don't have any magical advice to give you to succeed something. So I will just put what is important to me to say when you're in a job interview ...


A lot of people don't think that it's important but the first impression is one of the most important thing in a job interview (believe it or not ...). So don't be in late, take your resume with you and be relax. If you are in job interview it's because your potential future employer think that you have the skills to get this job, so you have to show that you are made for it ! It means be clear with what you can do or not but also show that you are livable because finally a company is like a family ! Otherwise there is another solution that you can try, just pray that your boss didn't see the video ...

You will deserve it

Because one day we all will work we want to find the company which was made for us ! There isn't a best company in the World, there are many good company with strength and weaknesses . Then it just depend of what you like or not... But before like everybody you need to know where you go. Personally, I have some ideas for my future ... I don't know if it could be applicable for everyone but I will write here what I've done for it and you could profile your company.

The magic list
A good start could be to know what you like in your life and what you don't like ! For example if you like tennis like me, why not to work in a company which is linked to tennis like Head, Wilson etc. Just make it with everything and it will give you a idea ...

Experiences
Because your job will represent at less 50% of your life it is very important to go in the good direction ... so before to launch yourself in something it is important to have every informations that you can have about the company. For that everything is good, I mean just take a look on the Internet, speak with friends, teachers, family etc. Take especially some informations about :
- public image
- financial health
- evolution into the company
- ambiance
- salary
- etc .

Finally just make sure that you will do something that you really like and do it for bad reasons ... I don't have a lot of advices to give about it, but I just know that it's not good to jump on the first job because we have a good feeling ... especially when we are young.

Lovely integration

For years new communication mediums have permit to travel more easily and to bring cultures together. Like this people had the opportunity to discover new destination. On the other hand discover doesn't mean understand ! That's why we can meet some problems when we arrive in a new country with a different culture like a culture shock. In this small article I will particularly describe this phenomenon and give a piece of advice to have a better adaptation.


What is Culture Shock?
Culture shock is the term used to describe the feeling of anxiety that a person can experience after they have moved into an entirely new environment.

How can I minimize Culture Shock?
Your experience of Culture Shock will vary depending on many factors, such as whether you are single or migrating as a family or if you know of friends, religion or culture groups in your new homeland. The stress that results from Culture Shock can be counteracted or reduced. Activities such as developing a hobby, incorporating daily exercise into your routine such as walking or jogging in a park, swimming in a public pool, joining a local library, taking time to appreciate the good things in your life, relaxation and/or meditation, making contact with your ethnic group, making contact with your new culture by learning the language or volunteering for a community activity can be beneficial.

Of course you must allow yourself to grieve occasionally for all the loved ones you have left behind but never let that grief become the main focus in your life. If you are struggling to find employment then volunteer for work experience, not only is this a fantastic way to learn new skills but is also a great way to network and meet new people.

Please work on it !

- Read books in English.
- Watching the American or English news on the TV could help you.
- Listen the BBC (there are a lot of good song)
- Call back all the friends that you have in foreign countries !

In this exclusive article I will give you some advices to fix some weaknesses that can have people ... like me.

Be patient !
Patience is a huge problem for a lot of people ... but who had never drive someone mad ?!?
To fight the lack of patience the best way is certainly to don't forget that one day or another we already had some problems and probably make nervous people. So the best way is to keep cool and help people if it is the solution. Actually if we all act like this it could probably fix the problem.

Organization is easy.
- Buy an organizer
- Clean your office every day ! or your home ...
- Prepare a program for every day
- Don't wait the last time to work

Time is time.
- Buy an alarm seems to be a good start (2 reasons : to wake you up and to help you to instaure work hours)

Nobody is perfect

Last week I had an interesting discussion with my teahcer about ... me. So today I will divulgue you something : I have weaknesses. OMG !!! Yes I know ... it's possible. Let's talk about it.

Not Patient.
Yes that's true I'm not patient at all ! The best example that I can give you is a situation. I remember that my ex roomate had the bad habit to disturb me every time to help me on computer even to open or close a window ... OK I can understand that computer is always easy, I'm not an engeener too but come on, close a window !

Not well organized.
What can I say ... that's happening !I have sometimes some trouble to be well organized in my work. But honestly there are too many distraction on the Internet ...

Respecting time constraints.
Well it's not my cup of tea. I have to say that I like to work under preasure so sometimes it's a bit ... stressful. But for my defense I will say that it's also because I like to make a lot of a research about a subject so it takes time ...

Give me some fun

Make a good presentation is not always an easy thing especially when it's the first time...
That's why it's good to follow some basics rules. Of course I will not give you here all the secrets to achieve it because there is no miracle formula. On the other hand I will give you some links and advices to help you to give your presentation more attractive.


First thing: You
Of course the first thing that people will look it's you. It's mean that you've to be relax and confident. Because I'm not a specialist I will not give you wrong advices to feel you better... so may be just run to the closest Yoga Center of your home or try to breathe.
Then just try to be at time and to adopt the appropriate attitude...
it could help you ;)

Do use PowerPoint
Although some speakers seem to have taken an aversion to PowerPoint, it is so convenient and ensures that your presentation has a clear structure and something for your listeners to take away.


Make appropriate use of pictures
It's a good idea to break up text with illustrations and it is true that a picture is worth a thousand words.

Ok it's true, I don't know if these few words will really help you to become Richard Branson but I just hope it will inspire you to put some life in your presentation.
